DescriptionSmall parasitic shrub with spreading stems up to c. 1 m. Branchlets puberulous, sometimes with longer hairs on young parts. Leaves opposite or subopposite, sometimes clustered at older nodes, dull green to glaucous, lanceolate to narrowly ovate-elliptic. Flowers in axillary, few-flowered umbels. Corolla c. 3.3 cm long, dull red to purple, densely covered with spreading hairs; lobes c. 9 mm long, reflexed. Stamen filaments red. Berry red, obovoid-spherical, glabrescent. This species differs from T. oleifolius by the longer hairs on the corolla, and the darker colour.
