A perennial herb with woody base, tomentose with stellate hairs; main stem is very short with procumbent few branches carrying cordate to reniform, shallowly 3-5-1obed crenate leaves that are green on the upper surface, greyish beneath; petiole 4-18 cm; stipules 4-8 mm, triangular, acuminate; flowers axillary, solitary, subsessile; epicalyx 5-6 mm, the lobes ovate-triangular; calyx 1.2-1.5 cm, the lobes ovate-triangular, striate; corolla 3.5-4.5 cm, pink or white; mericarps c. 4 mm, glabrous, wrinkled, not winged.
