Range Description

This plant is endemic to the southern and southwestern coast of Portugal. The majority of the populations (60-70%) are found in the southwest Alentejo and the Vicentina coast. The remaining distribution area extends along the Algarve, particularly in the west, with the largest population located north of Faro (ICN 2006). Its area of occupancy is 1,300 km (Commission of the European Communities 2009).
