Range Description

This species is endemic to Mexico, is widely distributed in the southern half of the Chihuahuan Desert within Coahuila, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas. It is also distributed in the southern Tehuacán Valley in Puebla and Oaxaca, where it is relatively common (Gómez-Hinostrosa and Hernández 2000; Hernández et al. 2004). The north and southern subpopulations are geographically isolated by the Transverse Neovolcanic Axis (Trujillo 1984). It is known from 240 localities (Hernández et al. 2010). It is found from 1,100 to 2,400 m.
