Range Description

This species is endemic to Mexico from the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur (Hunt et al. 2006). The species also occurs on many of the off-shore islands in the Gulf of California. Plants along the Gulf of California coast in Sonora require further investigation to determine that they are indeed C. cholla (R. Puente pers. comm. 2010).
