Range Description

Cylindropuntia caribaea is found in the Netherlands Antilles, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela (Hunt et al. 2006). It is also found in the dry formations of Colombia, in the Canyon of Patia Rio and Juanambu (Ruiz et al. 2002). Ponce (1989) includes it in Cuba but this record is dubious (L. Majure and N. Taylor pers. comm. 2011). In the Dominican Republic, it is very common from Bani to Pedernales and almost continuous throughout this area (G.D. Gann pers. comm. 2011). In Venezuela, it occurs from sea level to 1,200 m asl.
