Only two subpopulations of this rare succulent are known, one near Vereeniging and another near Heidelberg, Gauteng, South Africa. These are two widely separated locations. Has an extent of occurrence of <60 km² and an area of occupancy of <1 km². The presence of the species at one of the locations is not confirmed and as a result the distribution range is not considered severely fragmented.
