Range Description

The species is endemic to Turkey and was described from Cappadocia by Tournefort (Davis 1965), from where there are no recent records. It has been recorded from Gümüşhane by Sintenis (Davis 1965). Recent records are from Samsun (Seçmen and Leblebici 1997), from a small lake above Koçyatağı village near Sakaltutan Pass (Erzincan) at c. 2,646 m (Kandemir and Türkmen 2008), and in 2002 from Trabzon (Maçka Province, Altındere valley and Dilaver plateau) at 2,150 m (Uzun and Anşin 2006).
