Range Description

C.brutia occurs throughout Europe, from Iceland and the Faroe Islands, through Scandinavia to Poland and the Czech Republic, and throughout the Mediterranean basin east to Greece. Outside Europe, it has been recorded from Greenland, Morocco, Iran and the Caucasus and there is a specimen from Kamchatka. C. brutia also occurs as an introduction to Australia, New Zealand and the west coast of North America, from Oregon north into British Columbia.
