A monotypic genus restricted to small areas in the Usambara Mts., Southern Nguru Mts., Uluguru Mts. and Udzungwa Mts. A population also occurs in the Shimba Hills in Kenya. The nearest relative is a small genus, Brochoneura, in Madagascar.
