Description of Monocercomonadidae

Small flagellates, generally with three to five anteriorly directed flagella and a recurrent one free for its entire length or partly adhering to the body surface; undulating membrane present in two genera, but no costa under the undulating membrane. Some genera have a reduced flagellar apparatus or no flagella.
