Brief Summary

Read full entry
The lesser marsh grasshopper is found in the Netherlands particularly in the coastal provinces. It lives in grasslands in the vicinity of the sea, roadsides and dunes. On Terschelling, the lesser marsh grasshopper is the most common grasshopper species. This rather large grasshopper is green or brown in color. Its song sounds like a soft time signal: two to six chirps lasting less than a second. Between each chirp is a 2-second pause.
