Range Description

This species was originally described from 'Sandy Bay' - believed to be off Massachusetts (Hamy, 1968) - and occurs in the Atlantic Ocean between 45 ºN and the southern subtropical convergence. Roper and Jereb 2010) suggest its distribution may extend into the western Indian Ocean (Voss et al. 1992) in association with the Agulhas Current but other authors suspect its distribution is restricted to the Atlantic (Young 2013).
