Range Description

According to Grossu (1983), A aethiops aethiops lives in the Fagaras Mts and in the Retezat Mts. Arianta aethiops petrii lives only in the Rodna Mts. According to www.animalbase.org the species lives in Western Ukraine (Rakhiv and Cernivtsi region). The sub-species A. ae. petrii occurs also in the Rarau Mts (Páll-Gergely unpublished).
