Description of Asterigerinidae

Asterigerinid foraminifera, test trochospiral, biconvex, with more elevated umbilical side, chambers divided by internal toothplates producing a stellate series of chamber-lets surrounding the closed umbilicus; aperture a low umbilical slit bordered by a distinct lip.
