Description of Pseudovorticella nebuliferaPeritrich ciliates, when extended, the body is conical-campanulate, about three times as long as broad, tapering posteriorly, slightly constricted beneath the obliquely set and moderately dilated peristome. Contour when contracted pyriform, with the anterior border lobate. Cytoplasm transparent, colourless. Cell surface smooth, soft and plastic, often puckered. Stalk slender, mostly four or five times longer than the body. Length without stalk is 44-90 microns long.
