Evergreen many-stemmed, woody climber or scrambling shrub, up to c. 2 m tall but when climbing branches reach up to 15 m. Milky latex present. Leaves opposite, ovate, up to c. 10 cm long, glossy dark green with distincly paler, yellow venation, thickly leathery; margin entire. Flowers in pseudumbellate clusters, funnel-shaped,showy, rose-pink. Fruit in spreading, paired follicles, distinctly 4-angled, c. 15 cm long.
