Habitat
Comments: Open calcareous slopes in the subalpine zone at 2000 to 2900 m elevation. Common associates are stinking horsemint (Monardella odoratissima), clematis (Clematis spp.), columbine (Aquilegia spp.), and other species of penstemon.
