Range Description

Bythinella samecana is endemic to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Radoman (1983) lists the locality for this species as Plava voda, a large spring and brook in Travnik town and suggests that Clessin's spring "Sameca" cannot be found near Travnik. In 2009 this species was found by Z. Erss and Z. Fehr in the type locality (Z. Feher, pers. comm. 2009).
