Range Description

Bythinella drimica drimica subspecies has been described from Macedonia within the Black Drin basin, whereas B. drimica alba has been described from Kosovo within the White Drin basin. A few years ago, it was discovered in from flotsam in the Albanian part of the Drin River, downstream from the confluence of the White Drin and Black Drin Rivers. In South Albania extant populations were found within the drainages of the Shkumbin and the Vjos Rivers too (Fehr and Erss 2009). Therefore, there are at least six known sub-populations resulting in an area of occupancy of 24 km2.
