Range Description

This species is known from the vicinity of Goose Lake in Modoc County, California, as well as from Lake County, Oregon (NatureServe 2009). The estimated extent of occurrence for this species is no larger than 450 km2. Area of occupancy is likely to be less than 100 km2. The species was first described in 1912 and still occurs in the same area (Hershler 1999, Hershler and Frest 1996), as well as some new springs in Lake County, Oregon (Frest and Johannes 2000). There are only three definite known locations at which the species exists - two sites in Modoc County, CA, and one in Lake County, Oregon (NatureServe 2009).
