Description of Tintinnopsis major

Cells elliptical or oval, 20-40 x 16-30 microns, 8-16 microns thick. The longitudinal furrow on the ventral side runs somewhat inclined. Anterior flagellum about cell length; posterior flagellum about twice as long. Cell plasma with numerous large grains. Nucleus in the front part, median or laterally.
