Range Description

This species is endemic to Lake Victoria. In Tanzania it could be present over much of the southern shores of the lake It is known from Mywanza to Bukoba. In Kenya known around Mbita Point (Rusingi Island). Data from Survey work by Lange (2003) suggests that this species is common and abundant in the Mbita area, present at 70% of sites. This species occurs on exposed shores rather than within Gulfs.
