Range Description

Cylindropuntia imbricata is a wide ranging cactus, occurring in the Mexican states of Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, México State, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Zacatecas, and México Distrito Federal. In the United States, the species is found in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas (Hernández et al. 2004). The species is widely distributed and common in the Chihuahua Desert Region (Martínez-Avalos and Jurado 2005, Goettsch and Hernández 2006). It is found at elevations from 1,600 to 2,400 m asl.
