“Escalima regularis n.sp.
1913 Lima angulata: Suter, Manual N.Z. Moll., p. 885 (not of Sowerby: N.Z. Recent records only).
1926 Lima (Mantellum) murrayi: Powell, Rec. Cant. Mus. 3 (1), p. 48, Pl. 2, figs. 1, 2.
Holotype.-100 fathoms off Lyttelton; Powell coll., Auck.
Snares Islands, 50 fathoms; 14 miles north of Auckland Islands, 95 fathoms; 10 miles north of Enderby Island, 85 fathoms (Finlay coll., Auck. Mus.).
New Zealand shells differ from the New South Wales murrayi and the South Australian relegata Iredale in being relatively shorter and less oblique. The New Zealand species has been described in detail and figured (Powell, 1926, loc. cit.).
Dorso—ventral, 7.3 mm.; ant.—post., 5.75 mm.; thickness (one valve), 2.2 mm. (holotype).
Dorso—ventral, 9.5 mm.; ant.—post., 7.5 mm.; thickness (one valve), 3.0 mm. (Otago Heads).”
