  ( aethiops a pattes et antennes rougeatres) [[ worker ]] et [[ queen ]]. — Crimee, recolte par M. Jaeger, expert Suisse pour les vignes phylloxerees. Le C. sylvaticus de Mayr (Europ. Formic.) n'est pas le vrai sylvaticus , mais le sylvaticoaethiops .
 

Forel, A., 1890:
  [[worker]] L. 7 à 14 mill. Tête et thorax mats. Abdomen souvent subopaque. Écaille , tibias et partie inférieurepostérieure du thorax d'un brun rougeâtre . Hanches et cuisses rou-geâtres . Tout le reste d'un brun foncé . Chez les [[worker]] minor et media souvent le thorax entièrement d'un brun rougeâtre .
  [[queen]] L. 13 à 15 mill.
  Carthage, Soussa, Gabès . En général plaine tunisienne, dans la région des figuiers de Barbarie, des oliviers et même des dattiers, au pied des arbres dans les racines, sous les pierres.
