Jamie McMillan commented on "Tholera decimalis Poda 1761":
@Cyndy Parr: Yes, one of the great attractions of moth-ing in the Uk is the wonderful set of vernacular names thought up mainly by 18th century naturalists, and often based on the caterpillars, confusingly. Gothic and Feathered Gothic seem to be based on the 'gothic' architecture/arches they saw in the lines on the adult moth though.

Jamie McMillan added the English common name "Feathered Gothic" to "Tholera decimalis Poda 1761".
