Range Description

This species occurs in northwestern Mexico, extending into extreme southwestern United States. The known range extends from the vicinity of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, southwestern Arizona, into western Sonora (Mahrdt et al. 2001), at elevations from sea level to about 760 m (Mahrdt et al. 2001, Stebbins 2003). Its known distribution in Sonora, Mexico, is spotty (Rosen et al. 1996), and the distribution in general reflects the location of roads that traverse suitable habitat (Mahrdt et al. 2001), suggesting that the species is under-recorded.
