Range Description

This is a central Mediterranean species that is recorded from France (maritime influenced areas), Corsica, Italy, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Croatia, Montenegro (only coast), and the coastal areas of Greece including all the major islands. Outside Europe it is also known from Algeria, Tunisia, and western Libya, and the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. This species is easily distributed by human activities, its native range is almost impossible to assess.
This species has been introduced to Australia and New Zealand, where it is a pest snail.
