Range Description

In the United States, this species occurs in the Cumberland river system in Kentucky and Tennessee. NatureServe (2009) have classified it as S1 - Critically Imperilled in both of these states. The extent of occurrence is under 60,000 km2, but the area of occupancy is significantly smaller within this range and is estimated as no more than 500 km2.
