Description of Chlorodendrales

The flagella with an underlayer of small square scales in 24 rows overlain by 24 double rows of rod-shaped scales, in addition to hair-shaped scales in two opposite rows on the flagella. Some recently discovered marine picoplanktonic unicells without flagella also belong in this order.
