Range Description

A. witherbyi occurs in plains, mountain and plateau steppes, and highland semideserts (not found in desert depressions) from east of the Dnepr River in the southern Ukraine, through the Caucasus, extending southeast to western-central Pakistan (probably occurs in Afghanistan and northern Iraq, but there are no records). In the Mediterranean region it occurs in Greece (Rhodes), Anatolian Turkish steppe, Syria, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan. Occurs up to at least 2,100 m.
