This species occurs from east Paraguay (Gamarra de Fox and Martin, 1996), northeast Argentina (Pardiñas et al., 2003), and southeast Brazil (Rio de Janeiro to Rio Grande do Sul, including gallery forest settings in Minas Gerais and Goiás; Geise et al. 2001; Rieger et al. 1995). In Brazil, the species occurs from coastal areas inland to eastern Mato Grosso do Sul.
