Systematics and Identification

Synalpheus bannerorum is named after Dora M. Banner and Albert H. Banner, in recognition of their contributions to the knowledge of the Alpheidae. Type locality: Malpelo Island, Pacific Colombia (Abele 1975), types stored at the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution (USNM). Holotype: USNM 181663.

Morphology

Maximum body size (carapace length, or CL) of males is 5.0 mm; females, 4.7 mm (Abele 1975).
