There are three living species of redwood. This evergreen family includes some of the largest, tallest, and oldest trees on Earth. The giant sequoia is not the tallest tree, but it is the largest. It can grow over 295 feet tall and over 36 feet wide. It can live for thousands of years. The largest giant sequoias grow in California.
