Danaus eresimus is a year-round resident in southern Florida and migratory into more northern Fla. as well as southern Arizona and Tex. (Scott 1986). Habitats are subtropical open areas. Host plants are herbaceous, with most known hosts from families Asclepiadaceae and Loganiaceae. Individuals overwinter as X. There are many Feb.1-Oct31 in s. Fla, and adults are commone in s Tex. from Aug1 to Jan1. (Scott 1986).
