Range Description

The species is distributed in the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas, and in the United States in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma (Hernández et al. 2004, Powell and Weedin 2004). It is found at altitudes from 0 to 1,000 m asl (Hunt et al. 2006). It occurs in southeastern New Mexico from Chaves and Roosevelt Counties to eastern Otero, Eddy, and Lea Counties; in Texas from Pecos River Valley and northern Brewster County northeast to Garza, Young, and Tarrant Counties, southwards and eastwards to Travis, Refugio, and Cameron Counties. It has an approximate range extent of 250 to 20,000 km2 (about 100 to 8,000 square miles).
