General DescriptionSimilar to Monochamus scutellatus, but are gray, white, and black in color (Ives and Wong, 1988). "Body 25-35 mm long and black with pronotum more shiny than other species. Elytra usually gray in males while varied in females. Head is broadest below the eyes" (Yanega, 1996). Linsley and Chemsak (1984) report that the antennae extend 6 segments past elytra, legs with white hair and face large and flattened.
