Ecpleopus is a genus of lizard in the family Gymnophthalmidae. The genus contains only one species, Ecpleopus gaudichaudii, which is endemic to Brazil.[1]

The specific name, gaudichaudii, is in honor of French botanist Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupré.[3]
