Range Description

This species is a very small, Mesoamerican, epiphytic Bromeliad, which occurs throughout Central America. The taxon is found in Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua (Smith and Downs 1977, Solstis et al. 1987, Morales et al. 2003, Pemberton and Lui 2007). It is reported to have naturalized in Florida and is possibly found in Panama.
