Range Description

This species is distributed in the western Atlantic region including Bermuda and the east coast of the United States from North Carolina, around Florida, and throughout the entire Gulf of Mexico (Holthuis 1991). It is likely that this species also occurs in the Bahamas.
The type locality of this species is "among the Florida Keys .... at the Tortugas and .... from Key West" (Holthuis 1991).
