This caecilian occurs in northern India (in the states of Sikkim and West Bengal), and also in extreme eastern Nepal in Dabugaun, in Ilam District. It has been recorded at altitudes of 1,000-1,550m asl. Reports from the Western Ghats in southern India are in need of verification and have not been used in this assessment when mapping its range.
