Diagnosis A member of the H. boans species group, characterized by (1) medium size (snout-vent length 48.0-63.0 mm in males, 58.0-70.0 mm in females); (2) dorsum irregularly glandular, giving a rough aspect; (3) dorsal color greenish brown with an irregular pattern of dark brown and gray stains and bars, similar to tree bark or lichens; (4) well-developed undulated or scalloped dermal ridge on outer edge of arms, hands, feet, and toes; (5) cloacal flap and calcar well developed; (6) cloacal region covered by a well defined, glandular plate with lichenous aspect.
