Form is that of a very large, short-tailed domes­tic cat. Above, grizzled yellow-brown paling toward flanks and with a darker stripe down the center of the back. Underside and inside of legs paler. Weakly patterned with pale spots on flanks and belly and pale stripes on hind legs. Feet ocher to brown. Much less strongly marked than previous species. Head with rather elongated muzzle, buffish along nose with white patch below eye and very faint markings along forehead. Cheeks unpatterned. Whiskers mixed black and white. Ears large with short, black tuft, russet with blackish base behind. Tail distinctly short with round­ed tip, buffish with two blackish rings and black tip. Kittens strikingly short tailed with blue-gray eyes. Claws significantly more robust than those of domestic kittens.
