I am re-identifying this as Minke whale prompted by comment from EOL visitor Kris De Roo: "Hi. You have an image ("Fin whale in Conception Bay", by Eric Harrison) that shows a minke whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata), yet is labelled as a fin whale (B. physalus). The dorsal fin is far too upright and falcate to be a fin whale. It in fact looks like your typical minke, doing a high arch as it dives. Just compare it to your minke whale photos, some of which show the exact same dorsal fin." I've checked it in one of my sources and the fin does indeed look more like Minke than Fin.
