Alpheus parvirostris is an Indo-West Pacific snapping shrimp that belongs to the Edwardsii species group within the genus Alpheus. This species is fairly common in dead coral habitat throughout the Pacific, and is occasionally colonized by the rhizocephalan barnacle Thompsonia luetzeni (Hoeg and Bruce 1988).
