A small, long-haired weasel with distinctive coloring. Elongated body with full, bushy tail. Overall shaggy. Above and along flanks white, three broad black lines along body starting behind ears, the central one dividing into 2-3 additional small lines middorsally, and all joining together at the end of the body. Undercoat is black, long guard hairs pure white. Underside, legs, and feet are black. Head pattern distinctive. Muzzle black. White collar encircles the face running between the ears and eyes across the top of the head around to the underside of the mouth. Ears small and black, sometimes white tipped. Eyes dark. Tail bushy, patterned variably in black and white, but with underside of tip black.
