The large-eared garden dormouse has a diagnostic black face mask. Fur short and vary in color from gray to brown on the dorsal side, creamy white on the ventral side. Ears large and rounded. The large-eared garden dormouse has four digits on each forelimb and five on hind limb with short, curved claws. Feet white. Black area around large eyes extending as a black line to below the ears. Tail long, with short grayish brown hairs on the first-quarter and on the rest of the tail hairs become longer and making a tuft at the end.
