Wolfgang Lorenz commented on "Sphecidae":
@Cyndy Parr: @Cindy Megalomma Westwood 1841 (Coleoptera Carabidae Cicindelinae) has priority. The replacement name for its junior homonym in Hymenoptera Sphecidae is Megistommum Schulz 1906. As for its third homonym (Megalomma Johannsson 1926, Polychaeta Sabellidae), it is still listed as a valid genus name with more than 30 species in the World Polychaeta Database. Maybe Geoff Read can help us. A recent catalogue of Megistommum is here: http://researcharchive.calacademy.org/research/entomology/Entomology_Resources/Hymenoptera/sphecidae/Genera_and_species_pdf/Megistommum.pdf Megalomma is areal mess, because there are even homonyms among binomina, e.g., Megalomma vigilans, Megalomma bioculatum. If you need, I can send you a list of all known combinations. Wolfgang

Cyndy Parr marked "Habitat" as untrusted on the "Siphonaptera" page.
Reasons to untrust: incorrect/misleading -
Cyndy Parr commented on "Habitat":
This is not likely to be about Siphonaptera, the flea. It is more likely to be SIphonaperta, the foram. We can change it back if there really was a flea in the OBIS data.

Cyndy Parr commented on "Sphecidae":
@Wolfgang Lorenz: I'm in the process of finally fixing this homonym problem, which is complex because it involves three groups within Animalia. If Megalomma in Sphecidae has priority, do you know what the valid names for the beetle and the polychaete are?
