This species has been recorded throughout West Africa and Central Africa. It ranges from Sierra Leone in the west to Nigeria, and from here into Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There is a historical record from south of Lake Victoria in Tanzania. It is suspected that the species is more continuously distributed throughout its range than is currently known.
